Greetings from the other side. I wanted to do something a little different for this entry so here goes. I think it was in grade eight, although I could be wrong about that. Perhaps it was grade nine. What I recall was somehow choosing to sign up for typing class. Of all the things I have learned in school in my early years, few skills can top this one I think insofar as how practical it is. It has proved to be so incredibly useful for me to be able to type without looking at the keys and to therefore simply let my thoughts transfer more easily to the page. As a writer, this has taken me to a level that I feel to be so epic. Writing, albeit art, and therefore subjective, can be both loved and hated. But for the one who engages in it, it is simply an expression of one's self. As the painter looks at the brush and seemingly knows intuitively what to do, this is how I feel about writing. What better way to get the thoughts to the page than by the natural method of typing? Voice dictation is not even as effective I find, and neither is it by manual pen. There is something truly magical about the process of typing for me. It cuts out the middleman and allows the thought to transfer more accurately to the page. Okay, I know this is probably boring for some, but hopefully not for all; but followers of my blog can expect to see a lot of different things to come. Stay tuned and always remember that...
The Dream is True.
